Bayern Munich have upped their offer for Liverpool winger Luis Díaz and are believed to be in the €70-80m range. The Premier League side had previously rejected a €67.5m bid.

Spanish outlet AS say Díaz is edging closer to an exit and Bayern are pushing to get the deal done before the window closes. Reports say Díaz has already agreed personal terms with the German giants: four years through 2029 and €14m per year plus bonuses.

Sources close to the deal say Díaz has taken the initiative. As per reports, the winger has asked Liverpool to accept Bayern’s latest offer, especially if the club don’t follow through on a contract renewal discussed internally in May.

His position is a clear shift in the dynamic between player and club. Liverpool haven’t changed their public stance though : Díaz isn’t for sale unless a satisfactory bid is made, but there’s growing pressure behind the scenes.

Bayern Confident Deal Will Happen as Díaz Pushes for Exit

Bayern are getting more and more confident they’ll get Díaz this summer. German insider Christian Falk who gave us insight into the player’s motivation for making the move: “FC Bayern are completely clear with the player: they want to give Díaz a four‑year contract earning €14 million gross per year. I’ve heard that he’s only earning €2.7 million net at Liverpool… This is one of the reasons why he wants to join Bayern Munich.”

Meanwhile Liverpool’s transfer business adds to the drama. They’ve agreed a deal for Hugo Ekitike for £69-79m depending on performance related clauses. Not a direct replacement for Díaz positionally but maybe contingency planning if he leaves Anfield before September.

For now it’s up to Bayern to make one last push to meet Liverpool’s valuation which is reportedly closer to €100m. Díaz seems to want to go and has made his mind up.
