ESPN's 'College GameDay' will have a special broadcast ahead of the national championship game. Here's everything you need to know
ESPN's "College GameDay" will attend the College Football Playoff national championship game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. GameDay will have a special show ahead of the national title game between the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes and No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers.
GameDay's show for the Indiana-Miami game will start at 5 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 19 and will be televised on ESPN. Kickoff for the national championship is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday. Fans can watch the national title on ESPN.
Quarterback Fernando Mendoza and Indiana are favored by over a touchdown against Carson Beck and Miami. Indiana has been on a dominant playoff run. The Hoosiers notched a 35-point blowout win in the quarterfinals against Alabama and a 34-point drubbing of Oregon in the semifinals. Indiana is looking for their first national title in school history.
Miami has won five national titles, but their last one came in 2001. The Hurricanes used a combination of strong defense and timely scoring drives to beat Texas A&M, Ohio State and Ole Miss en route to the national championship.
GameDay has attended four Miami games and four Indiana games this season. Neither team has lost with GameDay in town all season.
Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban and Pat McAfee will all be part of ESPN's popular pregame show. Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman will serve as a guest analyst for the game. Herbstreit is part of the ESPN television commentary crew for the national championship.
