Jets look to have avoided the worst with Justin Fields injury

The news is good.

There was a moment or two where it seemed like the New York Jets' bad luck had reared its ugly head again.

But a few days after Justin Fields departed training camp practice which was eventually deemed a dislocated toe, all seems to be OK.

On Saturday, Fields is taking part in individual drills with the rest of the Jets' quarterbacks.

"Justin Fields seems to be moving around fine today," The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt wrote on X.

The Jets may not have been doomed if Fields was forced to miss time. Tyrod Taylor is a quality backup with lots of starting experience.

But New York made a point to go and get Fields as a free agent to be their new starting quarterback. He's the guy they wanted.

It would've been a bummer if he couldn't even make it to the opening week of the preseason healthy.

For now, though, it looks like the Jets have avoided the worst.
