Stellenbosch FC head coach Gavin Hunt has spoken about the club's plans in the ongoing January transfer window amid links to Tshegofatso Mabasa and Mosa Lebusa.
The experienced mentor took over the reins at Stellies in December, succeeding long-serving Steve Barker, who left for Tanzanian giants Simba SC.
With the club ushering into a new era, Mabasa has reportedly been discussed as a potential new signing to bolster the frontline on a six-month loan deal from Orlando Pirates.
Furthermore, the Cape Winelands outfit is said to be in advanced stages to complete a move for Lebusa from Mamelodi Sundowns.
When quizzed on the links to the aforementioned players, Hunt confirmed the club is looking to reinforce the squad, stating that there are ongoing negotiations to recruit players.
"I think it's evident in our situation that we need to bring players in. We are a little short, it's just that we are short of players, especially in the front of the team there's no doubt and obviously at the back of the team.
"So, there's a lot of negotiations going on right now, believe me you. There is a lot of players we have spoken to, there's a lot of players we've lost out to as well. So, before we make any announcements, I think the club will come through.
"The media department will announce those players as soon contracts have been signed. But there is a lot of negotiations on the go at the moment, for players to come in.
Stellies sit in an unfamiliar 14th place on the Betway Premiership table, and are only three points above the relegation zone and one clear of the PSL Relegation/Promotion play-off spot.
