A few quick observations from the third day of New York Jets training camp.
New York Jets 2025 NFL training camp is underway and will be watched under a microscope each and every day.
Throughout practices, updates are shared during the workouts which make for intriguing and important notes. In terms of Day 3 of training camp, what stood out the most?
Here are three observations from the third day of Jets training camp:
Fields was there
The news of the day surrounded Justin Fields. After the quarterback injured his toe on Thursday, the next practice he was in attendance.
However, Fields did not take part. He was on the sideline watching the workout. Head coach Aaron Glenn even said Fields wanted to practice but the coaching staff held him back.
Mason Taylor fits
Plenty of notes were sent out about rookie tight end Mason Taylor on Friday. Included in that bunch was ESPN, who said it "looks like he belongs."
Taylor made a couple of impressive grabs. The top one was this diving touchdown grab:

Defense takes advantage
With Fields out, Tyrod Taylor was QB1 and had mixed results. ESPN reported Taylor was 6-for-11 passing in team drills and while he did lead a two-minute offense drive to the goal line, it ended in an interception to safety Andre Cisco.
