Detroit Lions edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson looks to be all the way back from his broken tibia and fibula. More evidence of that surfaced on Friday, when the former No. 2 overall pick called his shot on one rep.
No matter how many great things Aidan Hutchinson does, he always finds a new way to impress us.
The Detroit Lions shared a clip of Hutchinson taking part in training camp practice, and in the clip he's seen working on a spin move that he swears will work when applied in practice — and he was right.
Hutchinson promptly went up against all-world right tackle Penei Sewell, used the spin move and won the rep.
"Monster," quarterback Jared Goff said of Hutchinson, who has been drawing a ton of praise from both teammates and coaches for how he looks after suffering a brutal season-ending injury in 2024.
"Listen I'm not saying anything about numbers, statistics or any of that. But, I see a better player than we had last year," defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard said of Hutchinson this week. "And you might be like, 'Woah.' Like, that's the same thing I said when I saw him out there. I'm like, 'woah.'"

Hutchinson is working his way back from a broken tibia and fibula. The former No. 2 overall pick said he started feeling normal again during OTAs.
"Football has been feeling normal for a long time now," Hutchinson said. "I would say first day of OTAs, I got kicked, stepped on, everything under the sun on this leg and after practice I got up and I was like, 'all right, we're good.' And I think it takes those physical things to happen to you to mentally kind of solidify where you're at and the confidence and moving past it."
Hutchinson and the Lions are reportedly talking about a contract extension as he prepares for his fourth season in the NFL.
Based on what we've seen in videos and what coaches are saying, Detroit would be wise to get something done sooner rather than later because Hutchinson's price is likely to only go up from here.
