The Georgia Bulldogs lost starting cornerback Daniel Harris ahead of the SEC championship game. Harris is headed to the ACC via the transfer portal
Georgia Bulldogs outside cornerback Daniel Harris began the 2025 college football season as a starter for Georgia. Over the course of the year, Harris lost more and more snaps to Demello Jones and Ellis Robinson.
With a diminished role, it wasn't surprising to see Harris announce his intentions to transfer ahead of the SEC championship. Now, Harris has found a new home and will be transferring to the California Bears.
247Sports ranks Harris as the No. 13 cornerback in the transfer portal. He's the No. 212 transfer nationally and is ranked as a three-star transfer. Harris is a former four-star recruit from Miami, Florida.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound cornerback has excellent size and should immediately compete for a starting role with Cal. Harris is good at not allowing a lot of separation, but his biggest weakness is not making plays on the ball.
Harris posted seven tackles for Georgia in 2025 and had a significantly smaller role than in 2024. Harris has 30 career tackles, three pass deflections and no interceptions. He started four games for Georgia in 2024 and had 22 tackles.
Harris has one year of eligibility left. He's one of 17 incoming transfers committed to Cal. Harris along with former Georgia commit Marquis Groves-Killebrew are Cal's two incoming cornerback transfers. The Bears have the No. 15 incoming transfer class in the nation, which is second-best in the ACC behind Virginia Tech.
