PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Peoria Christian School and Peoria Heights High School are just two miles apart, but they’ll travel a little farther to play for the Inter-County Athletic Conference basketball title.

PCS upset top-seeded and tournament host Brimfield, 42-39, in the ICAC semifinals Thursday. Peoria Heights squeezed by Elmwood, 39-37, in the other semifinal.

So, the fourth-seeded Chargers will face the second-seeded Patriots for the ICAC Tournament title Saturday night in Brimfield.

Other boys basketball winners Thursday included Bloomington and Heyworth.

First-place Tri-Valley won at second place Eureka, 59-42, in a key girls basketball game in the Heart of Illinois Conference Thursday. The Vikings (15-2, 7-0) stayed perfect in the league with the road win.

Dee-Mack (18-1, 7-1) stayed a half-game behind Tri-Valley in the conference race with a 59-42 win over visiting Fieldcrest. Eureka (12-6, 6-2) slips to third in the HOIC, which starts its mid-season conference tournament Saturday in El Paso.

Other girls basketball winners included Bloomington, LeRoy, Heyworth, Elmwood, Illini Bluffs and Roanoke-Benson.
