Super Bowl winner Harbaugh may lead Giants to glory

NEW YORK (PIX 11) — Super Bowl–winning NFL coach John Harbaugh could soon be the next head coach of the New York Giants as the team is reportedly working to finalize a deal. 

With the Giants coming off yet another disappointing season, PIX 11 News spoke to fans who say they’re excited about the possibility of John Harbaugh taking over. 

“You bring in a guy like Harbaugh — he’s got a history of winning,” said Giants fan Connor Hinds. “He’s got a Super Bowl under his belt. Can he do it with the Giants? I think so.”

 Harbaugh’s track record includes making the playoffs 12 times during his 18-year stint with the Ravens and winning Super Bowl 47. As the Giants work to finalize a deal, fans are hopeful this move could usher in a new era for their favorite sports team.  

The New York Giants have been widely considered a struggling franchise for more than a decade, marked by disappointing seasons, bad coaching, and inconsistent performance. Anthony Iacovelli says being a Giants fan all these years has been rough.

“It’s been hard,” he said. “I was still pretty young the last time we won a Super Bowl. I got to enjoy it, but I would love to see a Super Bowl win while I’m an adult. So, fingers crossed that Harbaugh’s the guy to bring us to it.”

After being dismissed by the Ravens following a season-ending loss that eliminated them from playoff contention on a last-second missed field goal, Harbaugh is expected to choose the Giants over other potential suitors like Tennessee and Atlanta. 

Even sports fans who don’t support the Giants said this could be a game-changing move for the franchise.

“I’m a Jets fan, but I still think that they’re going to win,” said Jets fan Kyle Cadigan. 

Whether this move pays off remains to be seen, but one thing’s for certain — Giants fans are ready for change.
