The Cleveland Guardians added 22 new prospects to the organization on MLB's 2026 International Signing Day.
Thursday was one of the biggest days of the MLB offseason: the beginning of the 2026 international signing period. The Cleveland Guardians were highly active throughout the day, signing 22 free agents and bringing prospects into the organization.
“Today is an incredibly exciting day for these players and their families. The players have worked diligently on and off the field over a number of years to put themselves in a position to become professional baseball players. We look forward to supporting them along the next steps of their developmental journey as they strive for long, productive, and healthy careers,” said Cleveland’s Director of International Scouting in a press release.
“The opening of the signing period is also a recognition of the efforts of so many across the organization, especially our scouting staff, who have worked tirelessly to help welcome this group of players to our organization.”

Out of all the players the Guardians signed on Thursday, the most notable was SS Svert Reinoso out of the Dominican Republic. Cleveland reportedly signed the infielder to a reported $820,000.
Reinoso was ranked as the No. 37 free agent in MLB.com’s international prospect rankings.
Known as a super-driven prospect with tons of physical gifts and high standards, he comes from a baseball-focused family that has been a terrific resource for his development,” noted MLB.com.
“There’s an exciting power/hit combo, particularly from the left side, as he has a repeatable bat path and competes in the box each time he steps in. Reinoso shows a feel for loft, and evaluators believe he’ll tap into his power more as he fills out his physical and growing frame.
The Guardians were recently voted one of the organizations that make the best use of the international market in an MLB executive poll. Time will tell if Cleveland ended up finding a gem or two in the international free agent class of ‘26.
