Manchester City will clash heads with Manchester United at Old Trafford this Saturday as they look to secure a win in the Manchester derby. Pep Guardiola’s side managed to secure a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United in the EFL Cup recently, so they would be full of confidence going into this game.

Guardiola will set his players up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first team for this clash. Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders and Nico O’Reilly could all play from the start of this game.

4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester United

Defence

Gianluigi Donnarumma will operate in between the sticks for Man City after he was rested in midweek. Max Alleyne will continue to function alongside Abdukodir Khusanov at the heart of Guardiola’s backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.

Matheus Nunes will try to prove his worth as the right-back, while Nico O’Reilly hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will try to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half at every chance they can get.

Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rico Lewis will provide cover for the full-back positions on the bench.

Midfield

Phil Foden, Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders will make up Man City’s midfield. All three of them need to move the ball well if they want to engineer some decent chances for their teammates in the final third.

Divine Mukasa will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Antoine Semenyo will try to put his pace to good use on the left flank, while Bernardo Silva looks to put in a hard-working performance as the right-sided wide player.

Erling Haaland will spearhead Guardiola’s attack down the middle. He has to find a way to cause a lot of headaches for the Man United defenders throughout the 90 minutes.

Rayan Cherki will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if Man City are in need of a goal by then.
