Prishchepov, Bradley Shine as Avs Prospects Impress Despite Eagles Loss

It was a difficult night in net for Isak Posch, but several Colorado Avalanche prospects delivered encouraging performances.

The Ontario Reign capitalized on its chances, scoring six times on just 21 shots to hand the Colorado Eagles a 6–3 defeat Tuesday night. While the result went against Colorado, several Eagles skaters delivered notable performances in a game that was far closer than the final score suggests.

What Happened

Colorado forward Chase Bradley continued his strong stretch of play, finding the back of the net twice and extending his goal-scoring streak to three games. Fellow prospect Nikita Prishchepov was a driving force offensively as well, finishing with a goal and two assists while consistently creating pressure in the offensive zone.

The Eagles weathered an early deficit after Ontario struck first just over five minutes into the contest, but Colorado responded with urgency. Bradley opened his scoring night by corralling a pass near the crease and deftly sliding it past Erik Portillo to even the score late in the first period.

Ontario regained control early in the second frame, striking twice in a 48-second span to build a 3–1 lead. Despite the setback, Colorado tilted the ice for much of the period, outshooting the Reign 16–4 and forcing sustained defensive-zone shifts. Goaltender Isak Posch faced repeated odd-man looks and traffic-heavy chances, as the Eagles pushed to claw back momentum.

The third period saw Colorado continue to press. Prishchepov sparked hope midway through the frame by circling behind the net and banking the puck off a defender and in, trimming the deficit to two. His speed and creativity were evident throughout the night, showcasing why the Avalanche organization remains high on his upside.

Ontario, however, answered quickly with back-to-back goals to restore separation, including a power-play marker during a 5-on-3 advantage. Bradley capped his impressive evening late in the game, ripping a shot from the slot with under half a minute remaining to round out the scoring.

Portillo earned the win for Ontario with 31 saves, while the Reign finished 1-for-3 on the power play. Colorado’s penalty kill was otherwise sharp, going 3-for-3, and the Eagles controlled large stretches of play at five-on-five.

Though the scoreboard favored Ontario, Colorado’s young core showed resilience and offensive promise. Bradley’s finishing touch and Prishchepov’s all-around impact stood out as bright spots.
