HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The IU Hoosiers have had an extraordinary football season this year. A few years ago, the team was barely winning one game, but now they’re going undefeated, ranking number one in the nation.
After last week’s win in the Peach Bowl, the anticipating for the team has grown to incredible heights. They will play against the Miami Hurricanes on January 19, and IU fans across the country will be watching.
For Jack Gibson, the only issue with the game is that it’s on a school night.
After talking about the game and its excitement, Gibson wrote a letter to Indiana Governor Braun asking for a two-hour delay in schools because this game is history. Eyewitness News showed the letter to Governor Mike Braun for his reaction.
Gibson’s mom, Audrey, is the principal of Shoals Elementary, and says she has given him permission to stay up late for the game and is prepared to come into school the next morning.
