Chicago Bears Next Gen Nuggets vs the Packers

Some neat Next Gen nuggets this week about the Bears!

Zebra Technologies, the company behind the NFL’s Next Gen Stats, sent out its weekly newsletter full of Wild Card Weekend stats that are fueled by its RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) on-field player and ball tracking technology.

The Chicago Bears beat the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night, and they had a few noteworthy nuggets.

Quarterback Caleb Williams, who had the most passing yards of all 12 quarterbacks who played (361 yards), averaged 8.8 completed air yards per passing attempt, which was the most of the games.

Williams was the fastest ball carrier on the Bears, hitting 19.45 mph.

Running back D’Andre Swift, who ran for 53 yards on 13 attempts, faced eight more defenders in the box 30.77% of the time (4th most), and he was just one of three running backs to score a touchdown in the Wild Card round.

Rookie Colston Loveland accounted for 37.27% of the Bears’ total air yards while racking up the most Wild Card weekend receiving yards among tight ends (137).

Speaking of Loveland, my guys at Breaking T just dropped another NFLPA-licensed shirt. Loveland is all you need! You can get yours right here.
