Columbus Crew will face Orlando City SC for the first time in the 2025 season in regular-season action ahead of Leagues Cup.
The Crew have engaged in high-intensity matchups against Orlando City SC the past two seasons, whether it be a regular-season meeting or the MLS Cup Eastern Conference semifinals.
The Crew have had the upper hand in the series, winning the past three games dating back to the 2023 playoffs, but each team has recorded its own 4-3 victory over the other since the beginning of that season.
"It is always difficult to play against them," Crew coach Wilfried Nancy said. "They're a good team, they're able to press high, they're able to defend low, they have good players to connect and they play with passion."
Orlando is one of the two Eastern Conference teams the Crew have yet to play this season. The other is the New York Red Bulls, who knocked the Crew out of the 2024 playoffs.
