FTRS Picks 2025 Bowl Season Part 5: Championship Game

One more game before this season is just a memory

Pick results summary here. @LeeNobody edged out the top spot in part 3. Part 4 only had 2 picks and about half of the group got both picks correct. Congrats to M, wsecor77, Edgarina, RamblinRocketman, mrbuzz1885, Myself, gtbadcarma, Maltina (who submitted both correct picks twice), Mike, G, dakota bull, and TheBuzz. YankeeJacket has locked the top spot of the post-season picks. I will do one last post to summarize the season picks later this month but thank you all for coming with us on this season long journey!

As far as Tech news goes, we are still working in the portal to hopefully get some good talent. While I’ve been pretty impressed with some of the transfers, and some rumored transfers who have yet to commit, the Jackets still have some big gaps to fill. The QB and WR rooms in particular have a lot of questions, which is concerning. We may run some younger players we currently have on the roster, but that will leave a lot of questions around lack of experience going into the next year. The portal closes this week; we will see who else Tech can bring in before then.

In national news there is only one more game to discuss. For all the marbles we have the Miami Hurricanes facing the Indiana Hoosiers in Miami Florida. Let’s get into it.

picks:

CFP Championship: #10 Miami Hurricanes v #1 Indiana Hoosiers (-7.5)

Logan: Mendoza returns to Miami to take on the Canes. The U has a chance to win a national championship before they win the ACC. This one has a lot of fun stories around it. But what does the game actually look like? Well Miami is certainly the most well-rounded team that Indiana will have faced in the post-season. Miami can run the ball, pass the ball, and have a pretty impressive defense. Unfortunately, Indiana has been playing like an NFL team. Indiana is that weird team where they don’t have anything particularly flashy, but they just feel solid in every facet of the game. It would be fun to see Miami win so people have to acknowledge the ACC (although I’m not sure it’s worth how obnoxious it will make Miami fans) but I just don’t see how any team can beat Indiana if they continue to play this way. I’m hoping for a close game, but the most likely scenario is Indiana wins this game by at least two touchdowns.

Logan’s pick: Indiana
