The Georgia Bulldogs have landed a commitment from former All-Big 12 honorable mention pick and Oklahoma cornerback Gentry Williams
The Georgia Bulldogs have earned a commitment from Oklahoma Soonerstransfer portal cornerback Gentry Williams, who has one year of eligibility remaining. Williams committed to Georgia shortly after visiting the Bulldogs.
247Sports ranks Williams as the No. 371 transfer in the nation and the No. 30 cornerback. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound defensive back played in six games and recorded six tackles to help Oklahoma reach the College Football Playoff in 2025.
Williams joins several other incoming Georgia transfers in the secondary. The Bulldogs have also brought in ECU safety Ja'Marley Riddle, Clemson safety Khalil Barnes and USC cornerback Braylon Conley this offseason.
Williams brings a lot of experience and potential to the Georgia secondary, but he was unable to return to his 2023 production after sustaining a season-ending injury in 2024. Williams is a former four-star recruit from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The transfer defensive back started 10 games for Oklahoma in 2023 and posted 30 tackles, three interceptions and a pass deflection. Williams earned 2023 All-Big 12 honorable mention recognition.
Next season, Georgia could start Ellis Robinson, KJ Bolden, Demello Jones, Kyron Jones and Khalil Barnes at defensive back. Zion Branch and Rasean Dinkins would also be expected to receive significant snaps assuming they return to UGA. Ja'Marley Riddle and Braylon Conley figure to compete for snaps as well.
