Over the last few weeks, Chiesa has been linked with a sensational return to Juventus.

Most of the recent reports to have emerged seem to see Chiesa coming in to be Kenan Yildiz's back-up, which, doesn't really make much sense.

Nevertheless, the Italian giants are the main team interested in acquiring Chiesa this January and at the moment, it feels like the attacker could be on the cusp of exiting L4.

That is, according to a report from Italian outlet TuttoSport who claim that the deal is 'practically ready.'

Liverpool are set to receive 'formal communication' from Juventus who are likely to meet the Reds' demands.

Talks are, however, set to start about potentially adding a mandatory buy option into the loan deal.

This is Liverpool's preference with Juventus preferring a buy-clause after Chiesa makes a certain number of appearances.

Liverpool's lack of depth in attack this season has been one of the main things to hinder their progress.

Of course, their defence hasn't been up to scratch either, but, when looking at how the Reds' last few Premier League games have gone, it's clear that they need to strengthen their attack, not weaken it.

Indeed, Slot and Richard Hughes spent an ungodly amount of money on upgrading their ranks in the summer but with Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak and Mohamed Salah all absent for extended periods of the campaign, the Reds have suffered massively.

And, even though Chiesa may not have had that much of an impact on Liverpool's results, getting rid of him and not having a replacement lined up could be catastrophic for the Anfield outfit.
