Georgia Bulldogs edge defender enters the transfer portal for the second time after just one season at UGA
Georgia Bulldogs edge rusher Elo Modozie has entered the NCAA transfer portal again. Modozie has entered the portal with a no contact tag, so he has a destination in mind.
Modozie transferred to Georgia football from Army in the spring of 2025. He was expected to provide a much needed boost to the Georgia pass rush, but that was not the case.
Modozie posted eight tackles and no sacks with Georgia after recording 34 tackles and six 1/2 sacks in 2024 with Army. Modozie appeared in 13 games and did begin to make a larger impact with Georgia as the season went on. He posted a season-best three tackles in Georgia's Sugar Bowl loss to Ole Miss.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound linebacker is from St. Augustine, Florida. Modozie his return is a blow to Georgia's edge rusher depth, but the Bulldogs are still expected to have Gabe Harris and Quintavius Johnson next season along with Isaiah Gibson. Georgia also plays linebacker Chris Cole on the edge at times. The Bulldogs brought in Auburn edge rusher transfer Amaris Williams. Georgia has had eight defenders enter the transfer portal as of Jan. 11.
Modozie has one year of eligibility left. He is a former track athlete with excellent athleticism.
