The beginning of the offseason for the Miami Dolphins didn't go as planned, as superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill said, "I'm out" after the team's Week 18 game to end the season.
While Hill has stayed with the team and is gearing up for the 2025 season, starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa hasn't forgotten his comments.
Ahead of training camp, Tagovailoa made a strong statement on Hill's comments and where their relationship stands. Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network shared the comments from Tagovailoa on Twitter/X.
Tua Tagovailoa says Tyreek Hill rebuilding relationship with him & team is a “work in progress” after Tyreek WK18 ‘I’m out’ comment.

"When you say something like that, you don't just come back with 'My bad.'" Tagovailoa said. "You gotta work that relationship up. He is working on himself."
Wolfe also shared that Tagoavailoa mentioned that his and Hill's relationship is still a "work in progress" after his comments at the end of the season.
The comments from Tagovailoa are strong. Their relationship is fractured, and while Hill is working on repairing it, it's not fixed.
The start of training camp has brought the team back together, but the quarterback and his number one wide receiver aren't on the best of terms.
While those comments were at the center of attention at the beginning of the offseason, they've faded with time. It's also not been at the center of attention thanks to the Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith trade saga.
But these comments from Tagovailoa are strong and paint a clear picture of where Hill stands, at least in his quarterback's mind. Hill walked back those comments this offseason, but Tagovailoa is, evidently, not over them yet.
This rift between the superstar receiver and the $212 million quarterback is not a good sign. While they can still repair the relationship, as Tagovailoa mentions, the fractured relationship is a rough look at the start of training camp.
