The Dutchman has four F1 world championships to his name with Red Bull, displaying utter dominance in the ground effect era.
Verstappen lost his crown to Lando Norris in 2025, finishing just two points behind him after a resurgence from Red Bull in the second half of the season. By his own admission, it was not a disappointing year, especially when he made other ventures outside of F1.
The 28-year-old made his GT3 debut after testing at the Nurburgring over the summer and later won his first race at the circuit. It is one of his many passions away from F1, and football is another one.
Max Verstappen revealed he is a Manchester United supporter
The Dutchman is an avid PSV fan in his home nation of the Netherlands. But in a conversation with Jermaine Pennant on talkSPORT, he revealed that he is a big fan of the Premier League.
When asked by Pennant which team he supports, on the condition that he could not support Manchester United, Verstappen replied: “Oh no! Yes, well I’m a United [supporter].
“Well, it’s not like I’m a die-hard United fan, I talk to Virgil as well and [other] Liverpool players. But for me, I enjoy when I see a great match, when I see great football, and I think the Premier League is the best league out there – a lot of great players.
“I think Man City is winning a little bit too much, but I guess I could say the same about us [Red Bull]! The other ones just need to get better.”

Max Verstappen got his wish about Manchester City
Verstappen’s comparison between Red Bull and Manchester City is spot on, given they both won four consecutive titles.
Pep Guardiola’s side became the first team to win four Premier League titles in a row with his triumph in the 2023/24 season. But the following year, Verstappen got his wish as Man City’s winning streak came to an end.
Liverpool clinched the title over Arsenal in 2024/25, with City finishing down in third, 13 points off the title. They face another tough battle for the crown this year in 2025/26, as they sit six points behind Arsenal after 21 games, with Aston Villa level on points in second.
