It's quite the world we're living in.
A former top-notch recruit is transferring from the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide to the previous afterthought Vanderbilt Commodores.
But now, Vandy is an SEC contender.
Shoot, Vandy got the top QB recruit, Jared Curtis, to flip in this year's recruiting class from Georgia to join the Commodores.
So maybe it shouldn't be a surprise. But it still makes for quite the jolt to see the words.
Alabama is losing its four-star freshman, Micah DeBose, after just his first year on campus. He's heading to Vanderbilt, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett.
DeBose is a 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive lineman.
He will have all four of his years of eligibility still to be used.
Vanderbilt will be facing a fascinating 2026 season. With QB Diego Pavia moved on, the Commodores will have to prove that they weren't just a one- or two-hit wonder.
Landing talented players like DeBose will only help the cause.
And that's exactly what happened on Sunday -- Alabama to Vanderbilt, just like it has always been.
