Werder Bremen have signed forward Jovan Milosevic on loan from Bundesliga rivals VfB Stuttgart until the end of the season, both clubs said on Sunday.
At the same time, Stuttgart renewed the contract of the 20-year-old by two years until 2029.
It is the third loan spell for Milosevic after previous spells at Switzerland's St Gallen and Patrizan Belgrade in his native Serbia where he scored 19 goals in 30 games.
Bremen are in need of a forward after a loan of Bayer Leverkusen's Victor Boniface flopped and the player underwent knee surgery on Saturday which should rule him out for the rest of the season.
Bremen head of football Peter Niemeyer said that Milosevic is "a young, talented striker who has developed very well during his recent loan spell at Partizan Belgrade. He fits the profile we are looking for very well."
Milosevic came to Stuttgart in 2023 but had no chance of adequate playing time given strong competition.
But Stuttgart are convinced of him, with board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth saying that "we extended the contract of Jovan because we are very satisfied with his development.
"Especially the past year in Belgrade went very promising and showed that Jovan is on the right path."
