One of the more intriguing recent developments in the NFL came via a blockbuster trade between the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers, which sent former All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith to Pittsburgh in exchange for Minkah Fitzpatrick and a swap of draft picks.

Ramsey has consistently been one of the league’s premier defensive backs since being drafted by the Jaguars in 2016. After four standout seasons in Jacksonville, he was traded to the Rams, where he played another four years and helped lead the team to a Super Bowl title in 2021.

He’s spent the last two seasons with the Dolphins, and although things didn’t entirely go as planned in Miami, Ramsey’s on-field impact didn’t go unnoticed. On Wednesday, the NFL officially announced that Ramsey ranked No. 66 on the NFL Top 100 list for 2025, a nod to his elite talent and continued respect among his peers.

Fans reacted to the ranking:

"This one is more about respect for his career. Because Ramsey was not a top CB in 2024. I'm sure playing through some injuries is a big reason why," a fan said.

Someone else added, "he's still got it, gotta respect the grind."

Another person wrote, "I can’t wait to watch him in a Steeler uniform man."

"He's him," one more fan commented.

Ramsey ranked No. 25 on last year’s NFL Top 100 list, so his fall to No. 66 this year marks a notable drop. Still, he remains an extremely effective player and is expected to be fully healthy heading into the upcoming season.

He is also joining a Steelers defense that has consistently ranked among the league’s best under longtime head coach Mike Tomlin—making Pittsburgh an intriguing destination for the veteran cornerback.
