Liverpool: Hugo Ekitike reflects on his decision to sign for the Reds

In an interview published on Liverpool's official website, Hugo Ekitike shares his ambitions as he joins the red wave.

Cameroonian striker Hugo Ekitike joined Liverpool’s Reds this summer. For now, he is the latest signing for the Premier League champions. On Friday morning, the player sat down for an interview with the English club's media team.

"I'm very proud. Obviously, this is a huge club. I'm just excited, I feel like a kid. I dreamed of playing in the Premier League. And playing for Liverpool gives me an incredible sense of well-being. I can't wait to get started and win trophies," he began.

He went on to explain the reasons behind his choice: "I think it was the right time. I arrived in the Bundesliga hungry, wanting to prove that I'm a good player and that I can make a difference on the pitch. I think I did well last season. Now, I feel ready to take another step, to play at the highest level, to improve, to see what I can do. That's why I think this is the right moment for me and the perfect time to come here."

The player concluded his thoughts on the move with these words: "Yes, I'm really happy. I think everything is happening so quickly and you have to realize that you’re here, you have [new] people around you and that’s, I think, what I’m doing right now. It always takes a bit of time, but arriving like this, at Liverpool and in the Premier League, has always been my dream. So I’m very happy and proud of myself."
