The 'Aaron Rodgers is a bad teammate' narrative is in shambles

During his career, we've heard that Aaron Rodgers is a bad teammate, but that is not something we're seeing early on in his tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Throughout his career, there has been a narrative out there that Aaron Rodgers is a bad teammate, but we're definitely not seeing that early on with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Upon joining the team, Rodgers made it quite clear he wants to help the team's 2025 sixth-round pick, quarterback Will Howard, something Howard is obviously very appreciative of.

“I told him last night he was in the room we were talking about signals," Rodgers said on Thursday. "I said 'what can I do for you' because I want to be a support system for him and pass on anything I can.”

"You see a guy that's bought in," Howard said of Rodgers. "He's sitting around and he's taking time to sit with his teammates and talk with us -- and guys like me -- and he just looks happy. He's got a smile on his face and he's just been great, man."

Howard isn't the only Steelers quarterback who has praised Rodgers. Mason Rudolph noted that Rodgers has been "incredibly friendly and open to questions" in the early stages of his Steelers tenure.

"Aaron (Rodgers) has been incredibly friendly and open to questions and talkative. He’s been a wealth of information,” Rudolph revealed.

While things didn't go as planned with Rodgers in New York, the Jets' decision to part ways with him didn't sit well with some players on the team, which further shows that Rodgers wasn't a bad teammate in New York, either.

"Listen, this is not going to be the last decision I make that's going to upset some people, and that's OK," head coach Aaron Glenn said. "But as men, we talk about it. We make sure we keep it in-house, and that's what we're going to continue to do."

Rodgers' former teammate with the Green Bay Packers, Kurt Benkert, called the future Hall of Famer "the most selfless teammate I've ever been around."

Having someone like Rodgers around is invaluable, especially for the quarterbacks. Even if Rodgers doesn't accomplish the ultimate goal, his impact could be felt for years to come if Howard develops into a franchise quarterback.
