It's not the Eagles or Chiefs.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs emerged as the two best teams in the NFL last season, with Kansas City dominating the AFC with a 15-2 record and reaching the Super Bowl and Philly tallying a 14-3 record in the NFC before winning it all in the postseason.

Despite their 2024 success, however, the Eagles and Chiefs pale in comparison to one team when it comes to strength of roster.

Ahead of the 2025 campaign, ESPN released its roster rankings for all 32 NFL teams, projecting the best starting lineups. Interestingly, the Eagles landed at No. 2 despite being the reigning champions, while the Chiefs ended at No. 5. The Baltimore Ravens were ranked the best.

ESPN highlighted several key factors why the Ravens have the best starting unit, including the presence of quarterback Lamar Jackson. NFL analyst Mike Clay called Jackson as Baltimore's "biggest strength."

"The dual-threat QB has never finished a season lower than second at his position in rushing yards," Clay explained in the ESPN report. "Former Cowboys QB Cooper Rush also makes for a solid backup."

The Ravens have several key additions this offseason, including wideout DeAndre Hopkins, rookie safety Malaki Starks, as well as cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Chidobe Awuzie. Hopkins, Alexander and Starks are projected to feature in the starting lineup for Baltimore alongside players such as Derrick Henry (RB), Zay Flowers (WR), Mark Andrews (TE), Marlon Humphrey (CB), Kyle Hamilton (S) and more.

It will definitely be interesting to see if the Ravens can live up to expectations. They finished with a 12-5 record last season but fell to the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round.
