Will Braden Smith break more records?
It’s Friday night and we are just a few hours away from seeing Purdue back in action in Mackey Arena so naturally this week I wanted to ask survey questions focused on the basketball team.
The first question this week is about who you all believe will come out of this season as the Big Ten champion.
Probably shouldn’t be surprising that on a Purdue blog the Boilermakers get the majority of the votes here. 57% of respondents gave it to the Boilermakers while 42% gave it to the Wolverines. Really surprised that Michigan State didn’t even register here. I’m not convinced you can count out the Spartans and Tom Izzo just yet.
Then, the question on all Purdue fan’s minds, can Purdue point guard Braden Smith become the all-time NCAA Assist king? He already took over the Big Ten record and now he’s got his eyes on the NCAA record.
Again, not sure how unbiased this opinion is, but 78% of respondents believe that Braden Smith will end the season at #1 in the NCAA record books. It would be an incredible accomplishment for the lightly recruited guard out of Westfield. What a moment it would be for him, for Purdue, for the coaching staff, and for everyone who doubted Braden Smith along the way.
