With the regular season behind us, here are our final power rankings for the season.
The 2025 NFL regular season is in the books. As this season has progressed, we’ve done power rankings for you at roughly each 25% mark of the season. Power rankings are regular-season fun, but nobody needs to see power rankings each week in the NFL Playoffs; those power rankings are decided on the field.
So as we sit on the cusp of Wild Card weekend in the NFL, here’s one more look at our power rankings, with our final spots for each team now that the regular season concluded. Note: the numbers in () are the team’s rankings in the preseason, 25%, 50%, and 75% through the season.
1. Seattle Seahawks (23, 16, 5, 3)
The Seahawks have steadily climbed the power rankings all season long thanks to a tremendous defense. Sam Darnold can be a bit of a roller coaster, but this team is a threat to win it all.
2. New England Patriots (17, 21, 7, 2)
How good can this team be in the postseason with little to no experience on the roster? That will be interesting. The Patriots could be ousted in the first round or march to the Super Bowl.
3. LA Rams (22, 7, 3, 1)
When the LA Rams play their best football, they are the best team in the NFL. It’s just difficult to know if that’s the Rams version you will see each weekend. Inconsistency has been their issue.
4. Denver Broncos (13, 15, 10, 4)
The Broncos have a strong roster, a very good defense, and can score when needed. The question for this team is whether Bo Nix can make the plays necessary to win playoff games.
5. San Francisco 49ers (5, 9, 14, 7)
The offense has gotten healthy and has rounded into form. The defense is a disaster. Can they win shootout games in the postseason?
6. Jacksonville Jaguars (16, 13, 19, 13)
This Jaguars team enters the postseason winners of 8 straight and is playing its best football of the season. Can it come together for them this month and push for the Super Bowl?
7. Buffalo Bills (3, 3, 6, 6)
The Bills without Josh Allen would probably be ranked 25th. The question is, can Josh Allen carry this squad on his shoulders when Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes are sitting home in the postseason?
8. Chicago Bears (14, 19, 15, 8)
The Bears’ magic has been a little less effective the last two weeks. This team has shown it can beat anybody in the league, but they’ve also shown they can be vulnerable to a loss any given weekend as well.
9. Houston Texans (8, 17, 17, 9)
The defense is elite. The offense isn’t. Which side of the ball will determine their postseason fate?
10. Philadelphia Eagles (1, 1, 1, 10)
See Texans, Houston.
11. Los Angeles Chargers (7, 8, 9, 12)
Jim Harbaugh has done a nice job navigating through an injury-riddled season for many of their key players. It’s just hard to see them making a postseason run.
12. Green Bay Packers (6, 5, 12, 5)
I can’t see the Packers, without Tucker Kraft and Micah Parsons, winning three straight road games to go to the Super Bowl. This isn’t the same team we saw in October.
13. Pittsburgh Steelers (12, 12, 16, 16)
Mike Tomlin has another winning season and another division championship. Can he win his first postseason game in a decade with Aaron Rodgers under center?
14. Detroit Lions (9, 4, 2, 11)
The Lions had a bumpy year, but they were good enough to earn a postseason spot. Unfortunately for them, the NFC South exists.
15. Baltimore Ravens (4, 10, 13, 17)
When you are the league’s expected Super Bowl champion in August, and you miss the postseason, you fire the coach, even if he’s been there 18 years.
16. Carolina Panthers (26, 29, 21, 19)
They’re scrappy, and they deserve a lot of credit for what they’ve accomplished, but their season will be ending soon.
17. Minnesota Vikings (18, 18, 18, 23)
How the Vikings ended up with a winning record is stunning if you ask me. JJ McCarthy looked a little better down the stretch, but there should still be serious question marks if they can win with him as their signal caller.
18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10, 6, 8, 15)
They should have fired Todd Bowles. This team is one of the top 5 biggest underachievers this season, and there were a LOT of underachievers.
19. Dallas Cowboys (25, 24, 20, 18)
The Cowboys showed some life for a good part of the season, but the worst defense in franchise history was too much for an excellent offense to overcome.
20. Indianapolis Colts (30, 11, 11, 20)
This collapse was epic, but I just didn’t feel the need to drop them any further than we had four weeks ago.
21. Cincinnati Bengals (20, 26, 26, 21)
The Bengals are a rudderless ship that needed to think bolder for their situation, but they’ll largely run things back the way they look, and they will win between 6 and 9 games again next year.
22. Atlanta Falcons (15, 20, 22, 24)
It was a nice finish to the season for Atlanta, but that was a mirage. This was a bad team, and they made the right choice by bringing in new leadership.
23. Kansas City Chiefs (2, 2, 4, 14)
2026 will be a fascinating year for this team. The dynasty is over. Are the Chiefs, when healthier, a 12-5 team that can win a playoff game or two? Or are they on the cusp of regressing all the way back to mediocrity while they try to reload around Patrick Mahomes?
24. Miami Dolphins (24, 28, 24, 22)
They were exactly who we thought they were going to be this year. A team that lost a season because they committed to the wrong coach and quarterback and refused to move on from them a season earlier.
25. New Orleans Saints (32, 31, 31, 25)
The Saints looked scrappy to finish the season, and Tyler Shough looks like he might be a legitimate starter in the league. It will be curious to see if this team can push for a division championship next year in what is a very weak NFC South.
26. Cleveland Browns (31, 23, 27, 26)
The Browns’ defense is strong. They have some legitimate offensive pieces. They need a quarterback. Can that QB be Shedeur Sanders? If not, what direction will Andrew Berry and the new coach go?
27. Washington Commanders (11, 14, 23, 29)
Dan Quinn is going to enter 2026 on the hot seat and needs to, at a minimum, have more wins than losses at season’s end. Can Jayden Daniels stay healthy enough to do that? A team a year removed from being a game away from a Super Bowl has a lot more questions than answers.
28. New York Giants (28, 27, 29, 28)
If the Giants land John Harbaugh, it will be curious what kind of impact he can have in year one.
29. Tennessee Titans (29, 32, 32, 31)
If you weren’t paying attention, Cam Ward’s second half was a lot better than his first, and if they can improve the situation around him in 2026, they might have something.
30. Arizona Cardinals (21, 22, 25, 27)
The Cardinals are such a bad franchise, we should all just assume they’ll be bad every year until they prove us wrong. Since the Cardinals won their last championship in 1947, they have 5 division championships, compared to 24 last-place finishes.
31. New York Jets (27, 30, 30, 30)
The last time the Jets won a Super Bowl, the real-life Remember the Titans hadn’t won their Virginia State Championship yet.
32. Las Vegas Raiders (19, 25, 28, 32)
