Real Madrid are sweating over the fitness of several of their players heading into the finals of the Spanish Super Cup against FC Barcelona on Sunday.
The Merengues secured their place in the final by beating Atletico Madrid 2-1 last night in Jeddah, but it came at a cost as Antonio Rudiger, Rodrygo, and Raul Asencio have picked up physical issues.
But there is some good news as Kylian Mbappe is set to join the squad in Saudi Arabia and be in contention to feature in the final.
Alonso to decide Mbappe’s role tomorrow
As such, according to El Chiringuito’s Jose Luis Sanchez, Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso will take a decision on Kylian Mbappe’s role for the Super Cup final tomorrow.
The French superstar is set to travel to Saudi Arabia and link up with the rest of the squad later today after having gotten in a training session at Valdebebas.

Once he lands in Jeddah, Alonso is expected to discuss his situation and assess his fitness before the final on Saturday.
What seems clear is that Mbappe will be available for the Clasico final and will play a part. It is now up to the manager to decide whether he is in good enough condition to start such an important, high-profile encounter.
The 27-year-old megastar has been Real Madrid’s best player this season and has scored more than half of the team’s goals across all competitions.
Having him leading the line against Barcelona will therefore be a huge boost for Alonso. At the same time, the manager must also consider the potential risk of aggravating his condition, which could have a drastic impact on the rest of the season.
A critical decision awaits Alonso.
