Julian Brandt to get another chance to prove himself at Borussia Dortmund

Ruhr Nachrichten reports that Julian Brandt will be given another chance to prove himself at Borussia Dortmund this upcoming season.

Brandt’s contract expires next summer, and last season was one of his worst at the Westfalenstadion, to such an extent that there was talk about his departure this summer.

However, things have now changed. 

The 29-year-old will get another chance to prove himself this season, after an uptick in his performances at the end of last season, and if he performs well enough, he could be offered a contract extension. 

There has been talk that Brandt could relinquish the vice-captaincy at Dortmund, and if he does, they could remove him from the burden of leadership and allow him to just focus on football. 

Dortmund are also searching the market for a player who could push Brandt to step up his performances. In recent weeks, the club has been linked with a move for Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte. die Schwarzgelben have also tried and failed to sign Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri as well as to extend the loan of Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka.
