Pitt State women's basketball dominated at home against MIAA foe Newman. HIGHLIGHTS:
PITTSBURG, KS. — Pitt State women’s basketball had its first home game of the year, hosting MIAA opponent the Newman Jets.
Coming out of halftime, the Gorillas were up 44-29 and they started off quick and found a rhythm on offense to extend their lead throughout the entirety of the second half.
Freshman guard Cambrie Phillips led the team in scoring with 19 points, a personal best for Phillips, and had seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks against Newman.
Senior guard Harper Schreiner reached 1,000 career points tonight against Newman and had six rebounds and six assists versus the Jets.
The hosts dominated Newman in John Lance arena, winning 95-66.
Pitt State women’s basketball will be on the road next Wednesday, January 14 to take on MIAA opponent Rogers State.
