Alabama basketball 2025-26 opponent preview: Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns make their first trip to Tuscaloosa as a SEC team Saturday night. Here is a look at the 2025-26 Longhorns.

Following a road loss at Vanderbilt on Wednesday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide return home this Saturday for a showdown with the Texas Longhorns in Tuscaloosa.

Texas' first trip to Coleman Coliseum since 1970, the Longhorns are a conference opponent that Alabama is not that familiar with in recent years, meeting only three times since 2016. The most recent of those games came a year ago in Austin, a 103-80 road win for Alabama in their first SEC matchup between the two.

This season, the Longhorns will also look very different than the team which Alabama defeated a year ago in Austin, with a big reason as to why being Texas is in a new era led by first-year head coach Sean Miller.

Following is a preview of the 2025-26 Texas Longhorns ahead of their trip to Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.
