Forward Maddie Padelski joins the Portland Thorns

Alabama Crimson Maddie Padelski signed through 2027 with the Rose City team.

University of Alabama forward Maddie Padelski has signed a two-year contract with the Portland Thorns FC.

“Maddie is an extremely driven player hungry for challenge and growth,” President and General Manager of Soccer Operations Jeff Agoos said. “As a forward, she is aggressive in and out of possession with an ability to beat defenders head-on. She also has a pressing mindset that fits our intention to command the field and physical speed to play our fast-tempo game.”

The youngest NCAA Division I women’s soccer player in 2024, she entered college as a 16-year-old and helped the Crimson Tide to advance to the Second Round of the 2025 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament for the first time since 2023.

Padelski played 36 matches for Alabama and started 27 of them. She scored eight goals and made three assists between 2024-25.

The midfielder participated in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2024, where the US won a bronze medal and netted two goals.
