UFC boss gives expected UFC White House attendance figures

Dana White eyes Washington takeover for UFC White House event

The UFC has finalized plans for attendance at the upcoming card at the White House scheduled on June 14 in Washington D.C.

While tickets won’t go on sale to the general public, the UFC does plan to have fans at the event, although details about who gets sit on the South Lawn to watch the card remains to be seen. White told CBS on Thursday that the UFC just got all the logistical planning done along with a screening event that is going to be held near the White House for more fans to watch the show live.

“We literally just got done going through all the logistics of how to set it up there, how many people we can have,” White said. “It’s looking like we’ll have 5,000 people live on the White House lawn. It will be on the south lawn and then across the street is the park, it’s called the Ellipse, I think, and we can have 85,000 people there.

“We’re going to have big screens and we’re going to have a stage, we’ll have music throughout the day.”

White teased that the entire fight week will serve as one massive celebration leading to the White House event on Saturday night, which coincides with President Donald Trump’s birthday.

The card was initially announced by Trump after he touted plans for a huge series of events to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in 2026. White loved the idea and immediately started putting together plans to build an outdoor arena on the South Lawn at the White House with a sporting event being held there for the first time ever.

While the UFC is going to miss out on a potentially huge live gate with no tickets going on sale, White promises that the card at the White House is going to be unlike anything ever seen before or probably again.

“We’re basically going to take over D.C. that whole week with lots of different things for fight fans,” White said. “Then obviously a one of one event to be able to have it at the White House. Fighters will actually walk from the Oval Office to the octagon.”

The UFC hasn’t announced any fights for the event, although White has teased that matchmaking is likely going to start in February. UFC superstar Conor McGregor has consistently teased his plans to return for that event after breaking his leg in 2021 and sitting out of action for the past four years.
