Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has no serious knee injury, the club's sporting director Deco has said after medical examinations.
German international Ter Stegen left the Barca camp at the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia to have the knee examined back in Spain.
Deco told broadcasters Movistar before Wednesday's 5-0 semi-final victory against Athletic Bilbao that "we are glad it is nothing serious" but that the knee has been immobilised for the time being.
"He had an uncomfortable feeling in his knee, and of course you're always a bit concerned when a player comes back from injury, because he's had problems with that knee in the past," Deco said in Jeddah.
Ter Stegen was sidelined for several months after undergoing back surgery in July. He returned in December to play in a Copa del Rey match but coach Hansi Flöick said this was a one-off because summer signing Joan Garcia is the new number one between the posts.
Ter Stegen's future at Barca appears unclear and he will need regular matches to retain his status as German number one at the World Cup in summer.
He was lately linked with a loan move to Girona, but Deco said that "there is nothing to say about the future.
"Marc is our player, he came to Saudi Arabia to be part of the team, and then this [the injury injury] happened. That's all," Deco said.
