Just one day after landing their first big portal corner, the Buffs are bringing in Cree Thomas, a transfer from Notre Dame with four years of eligibility remaining.

Thomas is a 6’1, 187 pound cornerback from Phoenix, Arizona. He appeared in three games this past season, preserving a year of eligibility. On limited snaps he logged one tackle and one pass defended, mostly coming on late-game duty. The sample is small, but Colorado’s need at corner after losing multiple 2025 starters makes this a timely add.

The Buffs already signed Justin Eaglin from JMU, a proven ballhawk, while Thomas is more of a developmental upside play. He is still largely unproven, yet a year in a top program’s room matters, and expectations for the freshman will be high as he competes for snaps this spring.

Colorado is not done at the position. Expect the staff to pursue another corner or two in the portal to rebuild depth and competition. We will keep you posted as moves stack up. As always, Sko Buffs.
