Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers continues to show that she's more than just a scorer.

Before she entered the WNBA, Bueckers established herself as one of the brightest college basketball stars. She also earned the nickname "Paige Buckets" — a play on her name that highlights her incredible scoring ability.

In four seasons playing for the UConn Huskies, Bueckers averaged 19.8 points per game on 53.1% shooting. She was also a career 41.9% shooter from deep during her time in college.

Bueckers' scoring talent has translated well to the pros, averaging over 18 points per game in her first season in the WNBA. As mentioned, though, she's doing much more than score for the Wings.

During Tuesday's game against the Seattle Storm, Bueckers also showed her defensive capability with a big block early in the first quarter.

Storm guard Tiffany Mitchell cut to the basket and thought she would have an easy two. However, Bueckers quickly turned around and rejected Mitchell from behind.

Fans were quick to heap praise on Bueckers and even gave her a new nickname: "Paige Blockers."

After she was drafted first overall by the Wings in the 2025 WNBA Draft, Bueckers was quickly considered the Rookie of the Year favorite.

While she has faced strong competition from Washington Mystics rookies Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen, Bueckers' consistent play has since given her a huge advantage in the Rookie of the Year race.

According to the latest FanDuel odds, Bueckers is at -6000 to win the honor, while both Citron and Iriafen are at +3000.
