Cristian Chivu heaped praise on Inter Milan after Wednesday’s 2-0 Serie A triumph over bottom-half Parma.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the 45-year-old hailed his team’s attitude.
Inter lived up to their tag as pre-match favorites, scoring on either side of halftime to post their sixth consecutive league win.
Meanwhile, Federico Dimarco delivered a ‘Man of the Match’ performance.
Indeed, the Italian wingback opened the scoring on the stroke of halftime, registering his third league goal of the season.
Then, second-half substitute Marcus Thuram put the final nail in Parma’s coffin, scoring in the eighth minute of second-half stoppages.
As a result, Cristian Chivu triumphed on his return to Stadio Ennio Tardini, steering Inter four points clear of second-placed AC Milan.
Furthermore, the San Siro giants have set themselves up perfectly for the upcoming home clash against Napoli.
Revenge will be at the forefront of Chivu’s mind following a controversial 3-1 defeat in the reverse fixture.

“It’s never easy to play in Serie A,” Chivu said. “There’s always an opponent who can give you trouble in a stadium that isn’t simple.
“On top of that, the weather conditions weren’t ideal. But we played a serious game, trying to dominate.
“It’s not easy to break their line with ten players behind the ball, so we tried to get into the box with crosses and shots from distance.
“What really matters, though, is the win and the players’ attitude, which was exceptional.
“The numbers are nice to read, but what counts is what you bring onto the pitch.
“The team’s attitude, their desire and ambition to push forward in the season.
“In Serie A, there are no games you can underestimate; dangers are always around the corner.
“There are always challenges. Every ball you risk or that gets intercepted can come back at you immediately.
“They have the quality to push others up with Pellegrino and speed with Valeri, Ondrejka, and Oristanio.
“We didn’t concede much on the counter.
“However, we could have been more patient, delivered a few more quality crosses, and overall could have done better there.”
Finally, he praised Manuel Akanji.
“He is, just like Bisseck, Acerbi, De Vrij, and Carlos Augusto, who played a great match.
“He handles speed well and is good at covering gaps on counterattacks. It’s never easy to play against a low block; you always have to stay fully focused.
“When you move the ball, there’s always a risk of getting complacent. But from a focus standpoint, I’m very happy with what we achieved.”
