The Las Vegas Raiders are moving on from Christian Wilkins.

"ESPN sources: Raiders are releasing defensive tackle Christian Wilkins with the designation of terminated vested veteran. His time in Las Vegas is now over," Schefter wrote on X.
Cutting Wilkins in the middle of training camp is a shocking move, but the Raiders had a reason.
Why did Raiders release Christian Wilkins?
Schefter added in his tweet that Las Vegas didn't like the way Wilkins handled his rehab, and thus voided the remaining guarantees on his contract, which is $35.2 million.
"Due to how Wilkins treated the rehab from his foot injury he suffered last season, the Raiders voided the remaining $35.2 million of guaranteed money left on Wilkins contract last month and today, Wilkins filed a grievance with the NFLPA," Schefter added on X.
Wilkins signed a four-year deal worth $110 million with the Raiders during the 2024 offseason. The 29-year-old played just five games last year due to a Jones fracture, and has yet to fully heal from the injury.
It looks like this situation is far from over, as Wilkins filed a grievance with help from the NFLPA. However, one thing is for certain, and that is the signing of Wilkins was a total bust for Las Vegas.
