Marquette Men’s Basketball Has A New Players Edition Uniform Set

I think these are better than last year’s black players edition uniforms, to be honest.

On Monday, we got this short teaser video from Marquette men’s basketball, with a brief clip of Earl Tatum talking about MU uniforms of the past.

On Tuesday, we got this full reveal video of the somewhat obvious tease from Monday of Marquette’s brand new player designed uniform set.

And yes, in case you were wondering, that is Chase Ross, Ben Gold, and Sean Jones in the Streets of Old Milwaukee exhibit at the Milwaukee Public Museum.

I guess this is a little behind the scenes of the photo shoot?

How about Chase Ross taking you on a tour of Streets Of Old Milwaukee?

Okay, let’s get to the details of exactly what pieces of Marquette history have been attached to these new uniforms.

Let’s go ahead and get the descriptions down here where it’s easy for everyone to read and react to them, going clockwise from the top right in the picture:

  • Gothic wordmark across the chest resembling the home uniforms in the early ‘70s
  • Emblem Resembling the numbers in the circle of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s uniforms, honoring legendary coach Al McGuire
  • Two-colored trim featured on the 1970’s road belts, one of the most colorful uniforms in MU history
  • A creative logo blended across eras of Marquette uniforms
  • Zig-zag pattern inspired by the uniforms worn in the early 1970’s
  • College block font popular in the 70’s, and featured on multiple Marquette uniforms

So, officially, Marquette did not actually say out loud in front of people that they are wearing these new uniforms on Wednesday night against Xavier. But it would be deeply stupid to do this big social media push about the new uni set and NOT wear them for the next game, right? RIGHT???!?
