Strasbourg head coach Liam Rosenior has confirmed that he will leave the Alsatians this week in order to fill Chelsea’s managerial vacancy. The 41-year-old head coach held a press conference this Tuesday morning at Strasbourg to clear the air regarding his future. Rosenior was the leading contender to replace Enzo Maresca. He has now verbally agreed to join the Blues.
“I was given permission to speak to one of the biggest clubs in the world“, Rosenior said. “It was an honour to be associated with a club like that, and now, it looks like I will be the next manager of that football club.“
Rosenior added that joining Chelsea will allow him to reunite with his family, who is still living in London. “This opportunity for me is something that I cannot turn down in my life right now.”
Rosenior added that he has a verbal agreement in place with Chelsea FC, and that no contract has been signed yet. Although, an official statement is expected to be released in the next hours.
