The NFL regular season has come to a wrap. With a lot of playoff positions secured, many of the league’s stars sat out Week 18, but lucky for us, plenty of Tigers were still in action. We’ll break it all down here.
Please note that a final NFLSU Season Recap will be published following the Super Bowl. That will include the All-NFLSU Team and dive more into season stats and milestones.
Panthers 14 at Buccaneers 16
Damien Lewis blocked. Deion Jones played but did not record a tackle. The NFC South champion is below .500, which shouldn’t be newsworthy.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
Seahawks 13 at 49ers 3
Anthony Bradford blocked. In a battle for the No. 1 seed, I’m glad the team with an LSU Tiger beat the team without one.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
Browns 20 at Bengals 18
Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase closed out the season with great performances that still somehow ended up in a loss because of course. Joe went 29-39 for 236 yards, three TDs (yes, he threw three touchdowns for a team that finished 18 points because the Bungles find a way) and one INT on a tipped ball. Ja’Marr led both teams with eight catches for 96 yards, and what looked like a game-winning TD.
On the Browns side, Grant Delpit had a season-high 10 tackles, including a sack of his college teammate.
Delpit also had a pass breakup on the two-point conversion after the Chase TD, which was essentially the game-deciding play. I don’t know if they’re still selecting alternates to the Pro Bowl now that it’s basically an All-America Team instead of an All-Star Game, but I would love to see Delpit get a nod if so.
NFLSU Score: 9/10
Colts 30 at Texans 38
Danielle Hunter and Derek Stingley Jr. sat out the second half once it became clear a divison title was out of reach, but the former did log a sack-fumble in the first.
With the backups in, Damone Clark tied for a team-high six tackles. Hunter finished with two and Stingley had one, along with a pass breakup. Ed Ingram blocked.
NFLSU Score: 8/10
Saints 17 at Falcons 19
Davon Godchaux played but did not have a tackle.
NFLSU Score: 1/10
Packers 3 at Vikings 16
The Vikings threw it to Justin Jefferson a lot to make sure he got his 1,000 yard season. Turns out throwing to one of the best wide receivers ever is actually pretty easy!!!
JJ finished the day with eight catches for 101 yards. Despite playing in all 17 games, he only caught two TDs ALL YEAR! Probably should’ve held onto that guy who was throwing to him last year.
Jay Ward had six tackles.
NFLSU Score: 6/10
Titans 7 at Jaguars 41
Brian Thomas Jr. caught three passes for 49 yards for the AFC South champions. Lloyd Cushenberry blocked and deserves a long, refreshing offseason after this Titans experience.
NFLSU Score: 6/10
Cowboys 17 at Giants 34
Jarrick Bernard-Converse was active, but did not record a tackle.
NFLSU Score: 1/10
Cardinals 20 at Rams 37
Omar Speights had five tackles. BJ Ojulari played.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Chargers 3 at Broncos 19
Donte Jackson left early with an injury. Austin Deculus blocked.
NFLSU Score: 1/10
Chiefs 12 at Raiders 14
Devin White only had six tackles, but that included 1.5 sacks. Jamal Adams had four and (checks notes) Jack Bech had one! Kristian Fulton had three pass breakups.
NFLSU Score: 6/10
Dolphins 10 at Patriots 38
Kayshon Boutte caught two passes for 24 yards. K’Lavon Chaisson had three tackles with a sack. Will Campbell returned from injury and played exceptionally in his final playoff tune-up. If we can get a Texans-Patriots playoff game, LSU fans will be eating good.
NFLSU Score: 7/10
Commanders 24 at Eagles 17
Thank God this Commanders season is over. Please keep our beloved boy healthy next year.
NFLSU Score: 0/10
Lions 19 at Bears 16
Mekhi Wingo had two tackles. Miles Frazier played some snaps.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Jets 8 at Bills 35
Tre’Davious White had one tackle. Reid Ferguson long snapped.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
Ravens 24 at Steelers 26
Patrick Queen had one tackle. Emery Jones played some snaps. Ravens should call Cade York.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
