Liverpool players often lead by example and if Hugo Ekitike could've planned out how he started his career on Merseyside, it's unlikely that he would change anything from his campaign so far.

Apart from the Reds losing a few more games than he might've liked, falling away from the Premier League title charge - although there's still time if Arsenal, Manchester City or Aston Villa slip up - the Frenchman has managed to get to grips with life under Arne Slot really well. He's fitted in really well.

In 1653 minutes played, he's netted 11 goals and made two assists, which is truly remarkable for a 23-year-old adjusting to a new country. He's a testament to himself for how he's managed to hold his own.

There's now another star that could be in a similar position to Ekitike and Liverpool could benefit.

Swedish star to follow in Ekitike's footsteps

According to the Daily Mail, one of the best wonderkids to note 2026 is Eintracht Frankfurt's 17-year-old talent Love Arrhov, a Swedish attacking midfielder who has already show big signs of promise.

He's only played 1566 minutes of football in the Swedish league Allsvenskan across his career so far, and his move from IF Brommapajkarna to Germany was only confirmed on New Years Day, upon the January transfer window opening.

But he's already a player that's considered worthy of being in Ballon d'Or conversations based on his ability, and given Frankfurt's history of identifying major talents, there's a lot of optimism around him.

Of course, Ekitike was the last player Liverpool bought from the German side, and he was also the last big money departure they agreed. As the report says, 'Arrhov will be hopeful he can follow suit'.

It's quite frankly impossible for Liverpool to steal the Swede away from Frankfurt, given he's yet to make an appearances for them, and he only joined the club a few days ago. But the Reds should no doubt be keeping an eye on him over the next few years.

The last attacking midfielder, that played for a German club, with Ballon d'Or consideration hovering over them, was Florian Wirtz who Liverpool splashed £116m on. It's not uncommon for Liverpool to go big on a player who they feel is destined to reach the top. Arrhov may be one of those players.

If he is, then don't be surprised if he is stay at Frankfurt is cut short. He looks to be a real star.
