SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Angelo State Rams looked to defend their home court once again on Friday night.
The Angelo State Rams looked to begin the second half of their 2025-26 regular season with a bang, and they certainly delivered on Friday night. As shown in the highlights above, the Rams seemingly displayed a mini dunk contest during pregame warmups. The Rams must have fed off of the energy from their high-flying, one-handed windmill dunks because the electric momentum carried into their Lone Star Conference matchup versus UT Tyler.
In addition to pregame dunking, three-point shooting was Angelo State’s theme all night. The Rams shot 8-of-17 from beyond the arc in the first half, averaging just over 47 percent. In total, the Rams converted 12-of-23 from three-point land to shoot just over 52 percent. Three Rams reached double figures; Kailon Nicholls led all scorers with 24 points while Davon Scott and Jaqai Murray contributed 15 and 13, respectively. Murray also grabbed 13 rebounds to secure a double-double.
The Rams led by as many as 28 points en route to a 76-50 win. Angelo State improves to 11-4 on its season and 2-2 in conference play. The Rams return to the Junell Center on Sunday, Jan 4 to host the Dallas Baptist Patriots.
