When it rains, it pours, and the Vegas Golden Knights have been caught in a flood.

On Friday, the Golden Knights dropped their fourth straight contest and seventh of their last eight, losing to the St. Louis Blues 4-3.

After several chances to get on the board, the Golden Knights were finally able to cash in during the first period. The fourth line was able to set up a nice rush chance, leaving Keegan Kolesar all alone in the offensive zone. Kolesar was able to rip a shot to beat Joel Hofer, giving him his first goal of the season.

27 seconds later, the Blues got the goal back. Alexey Toropchenko was able to beat Ben Hutton to get a clean break towards Carter Hart. Hart was able to make the initial save, but Toropchenko cashed in on the rebound to tie the game.

The second period would see the Blues push to take total command. First, Justin Faulk would capitalize on sustained pressure and fire a puck past Hart on the short side. Less than a minute later, Oskar Sundqvist would take advantage of a failed clear to push the Blues lead up to two.

Just as things were beginning to go wrong for the Golden Knights, they managed to get the game back. Brett Howden cut off a breakout pass to give his team some numbers in the offensive zone. A pass towards the front of the net would find Mark Stone, who buried the chance to push the Golden Knights back within one.

Needing a third period push, the Golden Knights got what they were looking for. Another turnover from the Blues put Pavel Dorofeyev and Brandan Bowman in advantageous position. Dorofeyev made an excellent deke to get the puck past Hofer and, despite the referees needing a replay, the Golden Knights were able to tie the game at three.

Unfortunately, with a minute and a half to play, the Blues put another dagger into the Golden Knights. A turnover in the neutral zone lead to another odd-man rush, which was finished off by Brayden Schenn. The mistake sealed the fate of the Golden Knights, who are still scrambling for answers.
