Daniele De Rossi himself dampened speculation.

On the eve of the Ligurians’ next match, the former Giallorossi captain responded frankly in a press conference, attempting to dispel rumors of a possible Dovbyk signing for his side: “I see names being thrown around like crazy; often, connections are made with friends who are sometimes genuine, but often just plain imaginary. I only spend 10% of my time with my sporting director discussing the transfer market; the rest I dedicate to preparing for the match.”

De Rossi then emphasized the importance of professionalism, regardless of the transfer dynamics: “It’s a player’s duty to give 100% until the last minute of his stay here. Teams change, it happens at Inter or Juve too, but I’m thinking about who I have available today.”

Beyond the tactical denials, the financial factor is making the operation extremely complex. Artem Dovbyk earns around €3.5 million per season at Roma, a figure that far exceeds Genoa’s salary limits.
