Football: TCU TE Ka’Morreun Pimpton declares for transfer portal

The former LSU transfer was with the Horned Frogs for just one season.

The TCU Horned Frogs will be looking for a new tight end to take over next season. It will not be former LSU tight end Ka’Morreun Pimpton, who has reportedly opted for the transfer portal after only one season with the Horned Frogs. Pimpton, a former four-star high school player who signed with LSU after playing high school football at North Crowley in Fort Worth, appeared in four games and had a 3-yard touchdown catch against Baylor. The 6-foot-6, 245-pounder played his first two collegiate seasons at LSU before transferring to TCU.

Pimpton’s departure is a notable loss, as the Horned Frogs are set to lose senior tight ends DJ Rogers and Chase Curtis after the 2025 season. Rogers has accepted an invitation to participate in the Panini Senior Bowl, while the team captain Curtis spent six years at TCU and was the team’s No. 2 tight end throughout the season. Curtis had 13 catches for 167 yards and two scores this season, while Rogers led all TCU tight ends with 34 catches for 319 yards and two scores.

With Pimpton set to leave the program, TCU will look for redshirt sophomore Lafayette Kaiuway and true freshman Mason Peterson to step up next season. Kaiuway played in nine games this season, catching a 14-yard pass against West Virginia and a 10-yard touchdown pass against Colorado. Peterson primarily played on special teams and did not record a catch this season. Both players are former three-star recruits.
