Roma are on the verge of finalizing a deal for Giacomo Raspadori from Atletico Madrid, providing Gian Piero Gasperini with a much-needed reinforcement for his attacking department. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the operation is expected to close barring any major last-minute hitches, as the Italian international has already given his approval for the move.

The financial details of the transfer involve a paid loan with an option to buy that could become an obligation under certain conditions. Roma will pay an initial loan fee of €2 million to the Spanish club, with a further €19 million set as the redemption price in the summer.

The report notes that the acceleration in negotiations comes at a critical time for the Giallorossi, who have struggled for goal-scoring consistency from players like Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson. With Raspadori increasingly marginalized at Atletico despite his recent Scudetto success with Napoli, the return to Italy represents a key opportunity for the 25-year-old to regain regular playing time.

Barring surprises, Raspadori is expected to arrive in the capital within the next few hours to complete his medical and sign his new contract, making him available to Gasperini early in the January window.
