The transfer window has been open for a matter of hours, but Paris FC are already looking to wrap up a big deal. L’Équipe understands that the Ligue 1 club have made a bid for SCO Angers’ Sidiki Chérif (19), which has been rejected.
As per a report from Le Parisien last week, Crystal Palace are interested in the Angers forward. Chérif has already scored four, helping Angers to a respectable 10th-place position over the winter break. He, alongside Prosper Peter, have filled the void created by Esteban Lepaul’s departure late in the summer transfer window.
But Chérif, too, could now leave. Clubs across Europe are lining up for the Frenchman, but seemingly, no side is more intent on landing the forward than Paris FC. L’Équipe understands that Les Parisiens have submitted an offer of €23m, rejected by Angers SCO, who are demanding a fee of around €30m for their centre-forward.
As well as Crystal Palace and AC Milan, both touted as suitors, L’Équipe now report that Villarreal are also in the race to sign Chérif this month.
